MISSION: At The Pointe Dance Arts, we believe that learning should be fun. Our staff strives to maintain a creative, exciting classroom environment while offering each child the highest quality dance education. We work with our dancers to instill healthy habits, a sense of teamwork, and life skills that they can use both in and out of the dance studio.
CURRICULUM: Our curriculum is focused on all dancers — those interested in recreational dance and those looking for a pre-professional dance education. All of our dance classes give each dancer the tools necessary to pursue his or her goals, whether it be dance team, show choir, a ballet company, college dance program, professional career, or just dancing for fun.
COMPETITIONS: The Pointe Dance Arts’ students are very successful at dance competitions; however, competition is not our primary focus. We have found that by training dancers first, rather than competitors, our students are able to focus more on the quality of their work and not the number of trophies on the shelf. By maintaining this attitude, our students are able to sustain a non-competitive environment inside the studio while ultimately creating success as a team at dance competitions. Additionally, we do not offer “competition only” dance classes. All students are placed in classes that best suit their needs and skill level whether or not competing is a part of their dance experience.
COSTUMES: The Pointe firmly believes in letting children be children. We will never choose costumes, music or dances that are not age appropriate. That is a promise.
